AUR30320 Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology is a nationally accredited course that reflects the role of individuals who service, diagnose and repair electrical systems and components in vehicles in the automotive electrical service and repair industry. This course will provide the learner with the knowledge to apply inspection, diagnosis and repair skills of the electronic components and systems found in automotive vehicles. The practical component of the course is delivered in a purpose-designed automotive workshop giving you the opportunity to experience the environment of a real business scenario.
Duration
70 weeks including 54 weeks of training and assessment delivery and 16 weeks of holidays.
Entry requirements
• Be over the age of 18
• Demonstrate good command of written and spoken English
• Verified evidence of IELTS Level 5.5 overall (or equivalent). Other English language tests such as PTE (score 42) and TOEFL (score 46) can be accepted.
• Have completed a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or Australian Year 10 or equivalent.

Additionally, all applicants are required to:
• Complete Pre-Enrollment Interview – to assess suitability to undertake the course
• Complete a Language Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) assessment – a diagnostic process to identify if prospective student requires LLN support.

Delivery Mode
Blended (20 hours per week including 15 hours of face-to-face week in a classroom and an automotive workshop-based training and assessment and 5 hours of online study)
Course Structure
The course will be delivered over a 16-month period across 9 terms. Each term consists of 6 weeks of delivery and two weeks of break. The course is delivered in a purpose designed Automotive Technology learning institute. Students will attend college in-person 2 days per week (15 hours). The face-to-face component is conducted in a combination of classroom and automotive workshop environment. Practical sessions will include the demonstration, explanation, and practice of automotive technology skills undertaken in a fully functioning and equipped automotive workshop situated on Revesby campus. In addition to face‐to‐face learning, students will also complete 5 hours of online study each week to assist them in building their professional knowledge and undertake work toward their assignments.
Assessments
A variety of assessment methods are used to assess the students including (but not limited to) written and oral questions, observation, projects/reports, practical demonstration, role-play. Assessment tasks are completed using a computer and internet. A fully equipped Computer Lab and free internet access available at the campus. and it is essential for the student to have access to computer device and possess basic computer skills.
