What Is HLTAID009?

The HLTAID009 and HLTAID001 training programs provide individuals with the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) under the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. The HLTAID online course is suited for professionals and those keen to learn these skills for personal reasons. Suppose your community or workspace demands you to provide CPR as part of first aid requirements. In that case, the HLTAID009 course is perfect for acquiring the required theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience in a simulated environment. After completing the HLTAID009 online course, candidates will be able to assess and recognise the need for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Moreover, the HLTAID009 course will make individuals competent in accurately conveying the details of the incident to the relevant authorities while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.

HLTAID009 Course Details & Assessment

The HLTAID009 course has an approximate duration of five hours and includes:
  • One hour of course administration
  • Two hours of supervised training
  • Two hours of supervised assessment
The course will include PowerPoint presentations, handouts, practical skills sessions, and discussions. We keep a 1:10 trainer-to-learner ratio to ensure that we uphold the quality of our training and provide an exceptional learning experience. There are no prerequisites to enrol in the HLTAID009 course. However, we require learners to provide photo identification before course commencement. We blend classroom-based learning along with practical hands-on training in a simulated environment. The assessment takes place in two scenarios:
  • CPR-AED: unconscious, breathing adult & unconscious, non-breathing adult.
  • CPR-AED: unconscious, non-breathing infant.
The time allocated for the assessment is one hour. Even though the assessment is on an individual basis, it requires four candidates to be close to ensure suitable observation. The written test has 26 questions and must be answered within a 40-minute duration.
